My apologies! Normally I’d have been all over last week’s Banned Books Week like a thing that is all over another thing, but I was distracted by trying to move us and our stuff (OMG WHERE DID WE GET SO MUCH STUFF?!?) to a new house.
Move Achieved!
Along with the move, we got a new kitten! Meet Fizzgig, A Friendly Editor:
Fizzgig is a rescue we found on my in-laws’ porch. He has a very friendly mother and three freakin’ adorable siblings, but we were nearing maximum cat saturation, so this little boy won the Hunger Games.
Fizzgig is about ten weeks old. He recently had a growth spurt, which turned him into a cat-dachshund:
Gracie is getting over it. She has a mega case of jealousy, but we’ve had plenty of cuddles and I’ve reassured her that she is still THE PRETTIEST – just like I did when she discovered that nefarious Looking-Glass Cat in her bedroom.
I am glad, however, that she cannot hear. Because it means she can’t hear me telling Fizzgig what a GOOD BOY he is.
I can’t get over his cuteness. The longcatness! The GIANT WHITE PAWS! The white ear-tufts inside the black ears! The nose! THE NOSE!
Fizzgig does not have his own Twitter feed (yet), but you can send your condolences (and reassurances that she is SO PRETTY) to our Librarian Cat-in-Residence @bookcatgracie.

adorable!
Fizzgig is so cute.
My deepest and most sincere condolences to Gracie. And, of course, my heartfelt reassurances that she is STILL THE PRETTIEST. How could anyone doubt it?
… ( Is she still listening? No? Good! Quickly, before she comes back: Fizzgig is soooo adorable!)
Cute cat and awesome name!
She’s a munchkin! The woman who supervised me when I volunteered at our local Humane Society told me about them.
Erm, he is.
I definitely love the nose and the eyes.
