I construct cutting-edge conversations for some of the US's top SaaS companies and law firms, through ghostwriting their articles, white papers and ebooks. I love finding the topics no one else is covering - and being the first to connect the dots.
I also research and publish on the role of communication in identity construction.
Marketing and Communications Consultant
I write epic content. My work has:
- Helped nationally-recognized law firms beat their competition to the top of Google Search rankings, bringing in new business in the lines of work they most wish to emphasize.
- Supported SaaS startups in their successful efforts to secure multiple rounds of funding - including at least one unicorn.
- Driven conversions and marketing results for growing insurtech and fintech organizations.
- Built trust for customers and clients of pharmaceutical research organizations, including clinical trial candidates.
- Provided essential guidance to trial attorneys, helping them win complex cases.
- Managed several clients' workloads simultaneously and remotely, protecting trade secrets, participating in high-profile business decisionmaking and communications, and time-sensitive projects.
My work includes seven years of agency experience as well as several years of freelance and contract team experience.
Developmental Editor
Co-founded a small press specializing in academic publications. My work has:
- Helped writers take their books from ideas and outlines to published products with an eager, growing audience.
- Communicated the value of our publications to audiences, resulting in month-over-month growth in sales and increased interest in publishing manuscripts with the press.
- Advised co-founders on the nuances of starting and running a successful small business, including formation, daily operations, and interpersonal board matters.
Library Media Clerk
I ran a Title I high school library. My work has:
- Resurrected a high school library that had been in storage for several years before I arrived.
- Weeded, processed, catalogued, and curated a collection of over 10,000 titles for middle grade and young adult readers.
- Created and successfully advocated for programs and budgets for the library.
- Collaborated with teaching staff, administrators, students, and staff in other district buildings on project-based learning activities, book fairs, book-related events, and independent reading plans for students.
- Secured several thousand dollars in grant funding and in-kind donations for the library program.
- Wrote and launched library website.
Adjunct Instructor of English
For three years, I taught English at Western Michigan University. My work has:
- Created and executed lesson plans with classes of first-year writing students.
- Tracked student progress, communicating with faculty and students as needed to create progress plans.
- Tracked, evaluated, and adjusted teaching as needed to drive student success.
Associate Attorney
I began my professional career practicing insurance defense, which included personal injury, insurance E&O, medical, legal, and real estate malpractice, defamation, and similar claims. During law school, I served in two internships in criminal law - one in defense and one at the county prosecutor's office.
